Stéphane Monnet – Graphic Designer
I’ve known Stéphane for many many moons. He’s been designing posters/postcards for me since 2004. He is responsible for our fantastic new logo, and he conceptualized the new design for the website (with help from JT). He is also doing all the print design, including all ads, brochures, and the program guide.
Essentially, I owe Stéphane my unborn children. He is incredible and the work he has done for the festival is incredible. He is truly an artist, and I only regret that the theatre will likely not have enough money to keep him designing for us (he is a full-time graphic designer on top of the other work he does).
He also just bought a beautiful house in which he will be throwing many parties during the festival, and generally, just for fun, because he really likes to party. (none of that is true)
If you see him around the festival, thank him. If you don’t see him, say bad things behind his back. (just for fun)
Q: Who are you?
A: I’m the graphic designer for SummerWorks and everything else Michael Rubenfeld orders me to design for.
Q: What are you doing here?
A: Designing a new look for the festival.
Q: What do you hope for the festival?
A: I hope this year’s festival is the best and most successful to date. I hope the new look, promotions and the addition of the Music Series will attract people to the festival who don’t normally attend theatre… and, of course, those who do. And I hope people like the new logo.
Q: What are you most interested in?
A: I’m looking forward to seeing as much theatre and music as I possibly can in 11 days.
Q: What are you worried about?
A: That’s a blog within itself. If we’re still talking about the festival – nothing.
Q: Any final words?
A: I can’t wait.
