Program dates: September 2010
Application deadline: February 22, 2010
Here’s your chance to participate in a two-week translation residency in Montreal this fall and have one of your works translated into French – only one space is available. This opportunity is open to an English-Canadian playwright and alum of The Banff Centre’s Playwrights Colony program in partnership with the Centre des Auteurs Dramatique (CEAD).
The 2010 Banff Playwrights Colony / CEAD Translation Exchange is a reciprocal bi-annual residency and will be held in early September. The Banff Playwrights Colony will work with CEAD to match the play and playwright with a Quebecois translator. The development work will include a translation workshop and a public reading. The program coincides with CEAD’s annual week of new play readings called Dramatugries en dialogue.
A CEAD reading committee will make the final selection of the successful playwright who will receive a per diem and have his/her travel and accommodation costs covered.
